Director and reviser, English-French

Carole Freynet-Gagné is no newcomer to the translation business. She founded Freynet-Gagné in 1992, and the company quickly garnered a reputation for the excellence of the services it provides to an array of clients in the public and private sectors, across Canada and beyond. Carole has a B.A. in Translation and a B.Ed. from Université de Saint-Boniface and has been a certified translator for close to 15 years. She has also served as board chair of ANIM, Manitoba’s bilingual trade agency, since 2012. Carole is known for her boundless energy and keen sense of client service.

Translator and reviser, French/Spanish- English

Jennifer has a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Manitoba and an M.A. in Comparative Literature from Université Laval (Quebec City). She has travelled extensively in Spanish-speaking countries, and has lived in Mexico, Bolivia and Chile. She taught and worked as part of the team of international translators and interpreters during the 1999 Pan Am Games in Winnipeg. Jennifer is certified in two language combinations (French-English and Spanish-English) and is a strong believer in certification as a guarantee of quality. In addition to her versatility and a keen eye for detail and accuracy, Jennifer brings her expertise in a number of specialized fields, such as insurance and mining, to Freynet-Gagné.

Senior translator, English-French

Sylvie received her B.A. in Language and Translation from Concordia University in 1989 and an M.A. in Translation from Université de Montréal in 2001, where she specialized in Neo-Hellenic Studies. She also worked for many years at the Technical and IT branch of the Montreal Translation Bureau and has been a part of the Freynet-Gagné team for the past decade. Sylvie is a quick and versatile translator who boldly tackles the most challenging texts. In addition to her enthusiasm and love of the profession, she brings to Freynet-Gagné her breadth of experience in translation in leading-edge fields, including IT and biology.

Translator, English-French

Jacques Bélanger received his bachelor’s degree in Translation from Université Laval in 1989, and has more than 23 years’ experience as a professional translator. He specializes in a number of fields, including education, Aboriginal affairs and health (he earned his diploma in acupuncture in 1998). Jacques has been with Freynet-Gagné since the beginning and is a meticulous and versatile practitioner with extensive knowledge in a variety of technical areas. A seasoned traveler with a keen sense of adventure, he likes the fact that translation allows him to discover new worlds without even having to leave the office.

Translator, English-French

Denise graduated from Université Laval with a B.A. in Translation in 1991 and a certificate of Law in 1994. She is a certified member of Quebec’s order of certified language professionals, OTTIAQ since 1998. This versatile and experienced translator has a passion for all things legal, especially criminal law. Across the years and contracts, she has also honed her skills in other areas, including agriculture, human resources and property management. Denise practises tai chi, which helps her stay cool under pressure and meet the tightest deadlines. She approaches all challenges with a healthy dose of doubt, asking the right questions to bring out the meaning of ambiguous passages.

Translator, English-French

Maryse began her career at the Translation Bureau and the Ontario Government’s Translation Services before moving to the private sector. She graduated with a B.A. in Translation from Université Laval and is a certified member of OTTIAQ. A quick and efficient translator, she enjoys tackling all kinds of documents, especially those that require a smooth and polished style. She regularly translates speeches, advertising material and other high-level texts intended for widespread distribution. Maryse has worked for many years with Freynet-Gagné and is without doubt an invaluable asset to the company.

Translator, English-French

Christiane received her B.A. in Translation from Université Laval and became a certified member of Quebec’s order of certified language professionals, OTTIAQ (Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec), in 1992. After working in the medical field as a certified technologist, she realized a long-time dream by launching a career in translation. Christine has worked with Freynet-Gagné for more than 15 years, drawing on her wealth of professional experience and her extensive knowledge in a number of leading-edge areas, including medicine, biotechnology and education. Her reliability, strict standards and extreme attention to detail are a great boon to Freynet-Gagné.

Translator, English-French

After completing his bachelor’s degree in Translation with a minor in Kinesiology at Université de Montréal, Julien followed in his mother Sylvie’s footsteps and began translating for the Freynet-Gagné technical team, notably in the areas of biology, geology, physiology and environmental science. He quickly made a name for himself due to his thoroughness and ability to handle a heavy workload (he is a night owl), and has become a critical member of the company. This die-hard sports fan just discovered cricket during a recent trip to Sri Lanka.

Our competitive rates vary, depending on the number of words, complexity and urgency of the texts to be translated.
